Frosty February

We made it through January and into February just as the temperatures have plummetted!

I thought I would share some great news about the goings on at Mark Hughes Photography. I had a great full weekend in January teaching the Fundamentals 1-4 courses. It was a little different due to COVID restrictions but it turned out. We did it as a hybrid course with one person in the studio and one via zoom. The pandemic is sure making us to learn new ways to deliver services and making us learn to adapt to new technologies. These new skills will serve us well in the future. I want to thank everyone who joined the Instagram 101 webinar, it is always fun digging into different photographic areas.

I have also started a Youtube VLOG, check it out and be sure to like and subscribe for more updates. The channel can be found here.

There are some great things coming up in February so read on!

The Furever Families Project

This started as a small idea that has simply taken off! The project is to re-photography animals that were adopted through GEARS. I have been volunteering my time to take photographs of GEARS animals to get them ready for adoption since 2014. I have taken images of hundreds of animals.

The intent of the Furever Families Project is to create a collection of the adopted animal with their new family. A portion of proceeds made from the eventual book will go back to GEARS as a fundraiser.

As I reached out to these families the stories about their furbabies have been truly inspiring!. The adoption process is special and not only will I be photographing the animal and their families, it will include of where they came from and the story of their furever homes.

I have received a tremendous response for this project and I’m excited to start selecting families to be included in the collection/book.
